İt has generally believed that our hobbies take an important place among the factors that make the person we are. Through our hobbies, we develop our character traits that determine our personality. Today, traveling has also become an important hobby for a lot of people over the world. While most people take it as a once year entertainment, for ‘devoted’ travelers, it is a hobby, an indispensable lifelong activity. And it is these traveling people who gain a lot in terms of personality development. In my opinion, owing to traveling, people gain better self-confidence, improve their observational skills I and become more flexible in their general outlook on life
To begin with, traveling makes people more self-confident. Completing a ten –hour mountain climb with a selfie at the top, tackling the hardships of trekking through an Asian jungle or African desert, or navigating through the confusing maze of streets in an old middle-eastern town without getting lost, all strengthen that rewarding feeling of ‘I could do it’ one feels afterward. Another contribution of traveling to people’s personality development is the observational skills one acquires along his travelers. In general, people look at a lot of things, but they do not really see all of them. However, traveling sharpens the sense- and so the mind. The hidden details in a masterpiece by the artist in the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam, the carvings on the facade of a Gaudy building in Spain, the amazing rituals of Buddhist monks in a Nepalese temple, or the blend of smell in their view of things around them. As they travel, they meet people of all sorts. They observe cultures of many kinds. They detect various life-style I opinions and beliefs. They learn about various definitions of good, bad, hot, cold, beautiful and ugly. Thus, they develop a more flexible approach towards everything, and they become more tolerant people.
In conclusion, it can well be stated that traveling adds a lot to one’s personality. Through continual traveling, people can become more self-confident, they can be better observers, and they also gain flexibility in their view of the world. so, don’t think twice! pick up your rucksack, and get going!
